6th Grade Curriculum and Experience
Sixth grade is a year of growth, independence, and new opportunities. Students build upon their foundational skills while being challenged to think more critically and take greater ownership of their learning.
Religion
Religion and character education focus on our Catholic faith, values, and responsibility, guiding students to grow as respectful, caring, and responsible young people.
English Language Arts
The curriculum emphasizes reading comprehension, writing and reading across multiple genres, and vocabulary development, with a focus on expressing ideas clearly and confidently.
Math
In the enVision mathematics program, students strengthen their understanding of fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, geometry, and pre-algebra concepts, preparing them for more advanced coursework.
Social Studies
Students are introduced to ancient civilizations, helping them make connections between past societies and the world today.
Science
The curriculum engages them in inquiry-based exploration, covering earth science, life science, and physical science through projects and real-world applications.
Beyond Academics
Sixth graders experience leadership opportunities, collaborative projects, and extracurricular enrichment. They develop organizational skills, time management, and independence as they transition toward middle school expectations. Field trips, hands-on projects, and special events provide memorable experiences that bring learning to life and foster a strong sense of community.
