4th Grade

Fourth grade is an amazing year filled with growth, faith filled learning, and new challenges. Our classrooms are a place where curiosity is encouraged, learning is celebrated, and every student is valued. 

 

Religion - Religion: In fourth grade, students continue to grow in their understanding of God, the Church, and how faith guides our daily lives. Students will learn about the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the sacrament of Reconciliation. They will also explore the different parts of the Mass. Our curriculum is designed to help students develop a strong foundation in Catholic teachings while fostering personal prayer life and moral decision-making.

 

English Language Arts -Students will explore a variety of fiction and nonfiction texts, using specific details to describe characters, settings, and events.Through close reading and discussion, students identify main ideas, summarize key information, and analyze how authors develop and support their points. Students learn to plan, draft, revise, and edit narratives, opinion pieces, and informative essays, focusing on precise language, clear organization, and supporting details to communicate ideas effectively.

 

Math - In Math, students build on their skills and explore new concepts, including multi-digit addition and subtraction, double-digit multiplication, long division, fractions, geometry, and measurement.Through problem-solving, critical thinking, and real-world applications, students develop confidence and become independent, capable mathematicians.

 

Social Studies: In Social Studies, students focus on learning about the state of California.They study its history, symbols, and significant events, from its early beginnings to current-day developments.Through these explorations, students gain an understanding of California’s unique culture, geography, and contributions to the nation.

 

Science -In our science class, students will explore life, earth, and physical sciences such as Force and Motion, Ecosystems and through fun, hands-on investigations, using Discovery Education and that help us see the wonder of God’s creation all around us.
