Advisory Council, Committees, and Parent Faculty Association

Advisory Council:
The Advisory Council sits in accordance with diocesan guidelines to assist in developing policy for the school.  The purpose of the Advisory Council is to work with the administration on strategic planning for the school, including but not limited to facilities, technology, development, marketing and student affairs. The council is composed of parents, community members, parish leaders and school administration. The Advisory Council meets monthly.

Jennifer Bergener serves as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Orange County Transportation Authority. She has over 28 years of public and governmental experience in transportation. She holds a Bachelors degree from the University of San Diego and advanced training in workplace safety. The Bergener-McCoy family has three sons, Jackson who graduated from HFCS and now attends Servite High School, Henry who is in 8th grade and William who is in 6th grade. They have been part of the HFCS community for nine years. They chose HFCS to nurture their children’s faith and provide a strong educational foundation that nurtures the whole child. Mrs. Bergener serves on the Advisory Council to provide input to the strategic growth and sustainability of HFCS not only for her children but for all of those that follow, ensuring HFCS’s legacy continues.

Kathi McLean and her husband, Mike, have been active parishioners at Holy Family Catholic Church for 45 years. From the beginning, they sought a loving, faith-filled community that would nurture, form and educate the whole child and they found that at Holy Family. Their three children - Ryan (’90), Kevin (’92) and Molly (’96) – are proud graduates of HFCS and later Mater Dei High School, before continuing their studies at Catholic colleges and universities.

During their 14 years as members of the HFCS community both served and volunteered in numerous capacities, helping to support the school’s mission and growth.

As an alumna parent and lifelong product of Catholic schools, Kathi is deeply committed to Catholic education. She believes the future of the Church depends on today’s youth and sees the gift of a Catholic education as a legacy she hopes to pass on to her grandchildren and future generations.

Jennie Blonska and her husband Jason Blonska sent their children to Holy Family Catholic School based on the recommendation of a neighbor over eleven years ago.  New to Catholic education they are incredibly impressed with the school’s curriculum, teachers, staff and leadership.  Holy Family Catholic School’s community, focus on the whole child, and instruction of faith allows students to grow and develop in all areas of their lives.  Faith in action through community service is an important lesson taught at HFCS.  Jennie and Jason devote hundreds of hours each year volunteering at HFCS as field trip chaperones, team parents, teaching art, coaching mock trial, working at the parish Fiesta, and supporting the many other programs that HFCS offers to every student.  As part of her on-going service and appreciation of this incredible school, Jennie serves on the Advisory Council as a parent to provide ideas that will help HFCS continue its mission to educate now and into the future.  Jennie is a business owner and attorney who practices in Tustin but her most important role on the Advisory Council is as a Mom.

Bridget Hennessey Ricci is a proud Holy Family Catholic School alumna and the parent of three students currently enrolled. With a background in public affairs and strategic communications, Bridget contributes valuable insights on development and community relations, helping strengthen connections within the school community

Matt Ratzlaff has been involved with Holy Family Catholic School for many years, with three children attending the school. As a builder, construction manager, and general contractor, Matt brings his expertise in facilities management to the Advisory Council, supporting the school’s infrastructure and facility planning.

Andrew Aronson is a middle school teacher who is in his 14th year in the classroom. His time at Holy Family began in 2008 when he began working at extended care and summer camp as a college student. He taught 6th grade at Holy Family from 2012-2017. He has a son, Andre (2nd grade), and a daughter, Serenity (kindergarten). Andrew and his wife, Samantha, chose to send their kids to Holy Family for the Catholic education, strong academics, and amazing staff. As someone who has been involved as both a teacher and parent, Andrew believes Holy Family is the best place for his kids.
