Throughout the year the Development Office is responsible for several events, some of which are fundraisers for either Angels In Education, the endowment, or for unrestricted giving.
Angels In Education Thank You Mass and Reception – On the Saturday of our annual appeal weekend, this year October 15 at the 5 pm Mass is offered for those donors to Angels In Education. Following the Mass is a champagne reception. By invitation.
Scholarship and Memorial Awards – At the school Mass in November, this year, November 18, scholarships and memorial awards made in memory of loved ones, are given to students at HFCS. Following the Mass, the recipients and their families have the opportunity to meet the donating family.
Catholic Schools Week:
Alumni Mass – Sunday, January 29, 2012 - Mass in the Cathedral to celebrate the Alumni of HFCS. Representatives of the decade years walk in the entrance processional. Alumni serve as lectors, altar servers, and often Eucharistic Ministers.
Community Cookie Delivery – Parents bake cookies, and students and parents deliver to the community to thank for support and to publicize Catholic Schools Week.
Partners In Education Thank You Breakfast – In June, a special breakfast for our Partners In Education is held, and students share how the class benefitted from the partnership donation.
Fresh and Easy – From Sept. through Dec. Fresh and Easy receipts are collected and tallied if over $20. For every $20 spent, HFCS receives $1 from Fresh and Easy. In addition, one of the stores in Orange hosts a fundraiser night and HFCS receives 10% of sales in addition to the $1 for every $20 spent that night. This year our Fresh and Easy night is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, November 23. The store is located on Main and Chapman. Last year HFCS made $1,200 on the fundraising night and the receipts. The money went into Angels In Education.
Islands – 3 times a year, Islands restaurant in Orange hosts a fundraising night for HFCS. 20% of the orders go to HFCS. The dates are in the beginning of the year, the Monday of Catholic Schools Week in January, and in June. The money raised from Islands nights goes to Angels In Education.
Christmas Wreaths – orders are taken the first 2 weeks in November, and wreaths are delivered to the recipient. There is no pickup at school. This is a wonderful way to purchase Christmas gifts for friends and family, especially those out of state. Cost $35. The proceeds go to the Angels in Education. |
