PARTNERS IN EDUCATION

For the past nine years, Holy Family Cathedral School has had a business and school partnership program called Partners In Education.

Our Partners In Education, whether business or family, make a tax-deductible donation to an individual classroom, grades Preschool through 8; or to a specialty program, such as Music, Physical education/Sports, Resource, Library, Computers, or Advanced Math. The donation is $550, and can be designated to whatever classroom or program the donor chooses. The teacher uses the money for materials, books, and equipment for those students in that grade or class. Partners In Education donations have been used for writing workbooks, maps, classroom sets of literature books, computer equipment, a listening center, an electronic keyboard, and ABC rug, a document camera, digital cameras, and educational materials which the teachers felt would enhance the students’ ability to learn.

In return for the generosity of a partnership, the school publicizes the business in the “Family Ties” alumni newsletter, in the school newsletter, in the PFA newsletter, in the parish bulletin, and on the website. Often our businesses visit their classroom partner and become very special guests at our school events, especially on Special Persons Day in January and Literature Appreciation Day. Sometimes our Partners and their class have worked together on community service projects. We conclude the year with a Thank You Breakfast in June for our Partners In Education.
