Holy Family Cathedral School is very fortunate to have our health room staffed with a registered nurse, 5 days a week from 8:00-2:30 pm.  On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Mrs. Judy Fletcher, RN, is the school nurse on duty; on Thursdays and Fridays, Mrs. Kathy Brost, RN, is on duty.

All parents, especially of students who will be entering 7^th through 12^th grade: Please be aware of the new California law for the 2011 – 2012 school year. Assembly Bill 354. It states that “all students entering the 7^th through 12^th grades will need proof of Tdap booster shot before beginning school”. Tdap includes boosters for tetanus and diphtheria in addition to pertussis. Vaccinations received in early childhood lose effectiveness and booster vaccination is needed to prevent the disease. Orange county is experiencing an epidemic of pertussis, commonly called “whooping cough”. Pertussis is highly contagious. County of Orange Public Health Services states “if you child is aged 10 years or older and has not yet received the Tdap pertussis booster shot, he or she should get one now”.
