Children must be 5 years of age by September 1 to enter our Kindergarten program.
Holy Family Cathedral School recognizes that each child is an unique creation of God. In cooperation with the parents who are the primary educators, we work to discover and develop the potential God has given to each child.
The Religion series, We Believe, introduces the Catholic faith to our young learners. Students learn that God is their creator who has blessed them with many gifts. The children learn the importance of how to show and share God's love. Students, with their 8th grade 'buddies" attend Mass monthly learning the traditions of the church.
Our Open Court Reading program engages students in literature, phonics, decoding and word recognition, concept of print, comprehension skills, writing and spelling.
The Harcourt Math program develops skills with the following areas: sorting, classifying, patterns, matching, numbers, money, time, measurement, adding and subtracting.
Through the Harcourt Science series the students learn about the world around us, animals and plants, and our Earth. We also include multiple thematic activities throughout the year.
The Harcourt Social Science program focuses on being a good citizen, knowledge of Orange County and our world. Thematic units are incorporated throughout the year as well.
Our handwriting program, Zaner-Bloser consists of learning the proper continuous strokes of each letter in the alphabet. Students also practice writing words and sentences. In addition, students work on monthly journals.
